January 18th - Mount Abu (Free day)

From the 17th to the 18th, we had the most memorable night and journey, to me. It was 'memorable' because we could indeed remember it. The reason we could remember it is that most of us weren't asleep... The action on the road in front of our eyes surpassed any action movie I've ever seen with this time, the sensations at the same time. The bumps, the laughter, the screams, the complaints and at 4 a.m. ... the music. Apparently, there is absolutely no contradiction between being on a Meher Baba pilgrimage and going to the open-air dancefloor on the sidewalk to let it all out!

As a consequence, we were all very tired and looking forward to getting in our hotel rooms but had to wait outside. This allowed us once more to see how we could behave as a group in such a situation... my first 'behaviour' was a quite natural one...

For the first time of the trip, we were all staying together in the same hotel. It was my first time ever in a hotel of that type, the least I could say was that I was impressed but also very happy to have a little more comfort than the previous days.

After an excellent breakfast and nap, we went for a walk to discover Ajmer, its Eiffel Tower and the Dilwara temple, as simple tourist this time. I was very happy that we went there once before going there as pilgrims. It's such an incredible place, the longer we can stay in there, the better.

I asked these ladies for a photo, I thought they looked wonderful!

Then Marc took us to caves in which Meher Baba had stayed. We had a great time walking in the mountains, tracking monkeys and sitting peacefully in the caves.
